Community Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team at NEXUS Community Support Society. As a Community Support Specialist, you will work in a team and/or individual environment with the needs of the individuals supported by NEXUS as the primary focus.
- Develop and Facilitate Opportunities
You will develop and facilitate opportunities based on the needs and goals set by the individual and their support network, promoting community inclusion and participation.
Documentation and Record-KeepingYou will complete documentation on a regular basis that outlines individual's success, needs, and further support that may be required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Team Collaboration and TrainingYou will participate in meetings, training opportunities, and service planning as required, working collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.
Additional ResponsibilitiesYou will perform other related duties as required, contributing to the overall success of NEXUS Community Support Society.
Requirements- Age and Driver's License
You must be 19 years of age or older and hold a valid class 5 (or better) driver's license, with a driver's abstract required.
Experience and SkillsRelated experience working with adults with diverse abilities is considered an asset, and you must possess basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties as required.
Certifications and ChecksYou must hold First Aid (Level 1) certification and undergo a criminal record check, which will be performed by NEXUS upon hire.
