Job Summary:

The Administrative Support III role at Alberta Health Services is a critical position that requires advanced administrative skills and knowledge to support complex procedures and initiatives within a department or program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient scheduling, registration, and reception duties
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and unit clerks to coordinate treatments and clinical trials
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clients, and the general public
  • Communicate effectively to obtain patient information and accurately enter data into patient care systems

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk Specialty certification
  • Post-secondary education applicable to the position or Medical Terminology from a recognized training program
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Connect Care Scheduler and Referrals role
  • Knowledge of ARIA and Netcare systems
  • Critical thinking and ability to demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
