Canada Business Development Manager

At Square, we're revolutionizing the way businesses operate by providing an integrated ecosystem of commerce solutions, business software, and banking services. As a seasoned Business Development Manager in Canada, you'll play a crucial role in driving our growth strategy and developing deep relationships with external partners.
We're seeking an experienced professional to join our Partnerships team, representing Square's brand in Canada and spearheading our Canadian strategy. Responsibilities include scoping out potential partnerships, negotiating contracts, building and growing strong relationships with external parties.
Your primary objective will be to source, sign, and manage partners that drive Square's growth in Canada. This will involve taking ownership of our relationships with a broad set of partners, including large strategic opportunities with major organizations, as well as scaling our partner program for independent software and service providers, consultants, and advisors.
You'll be measured against key performance indicators (KPIs) that include growth of the partner ecosystem, the number and value of new customers acquired via your partners, and adoption of your partners' solutions by customers. To succeed, you must have a deep understanding of Square's company strategy and be able to communicate the value of our brand and product ecosystem effectively.
Beyond technical skills, we're looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can build trust with internal and external stakeholders to grow Square's relationships with strategic partners.
The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of professional experience in strategic business development, product management, and/or partnerships experience, with a proven track record of signing new partners. You should also possess experience evaluating opportunities with regard to impact on strategy, brand, finance, and operations.
A successful Business Development Manager in this role will have a compelling vision and sense of common purpose, with a willingness to look beyond what's possible today. You'll need to be comfortable interacting with executives and senior leadership to explore new opportunities, managing projects with multiple stakeholders, and setting clear milestones and holding people accountable to goals.
We offer a competitive salary, ranging from CAD $109,300 to CAD $163,900 per year, based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Please note that these ranges may be modified in the future.
