POSITION SUMMARY

The Non-Profit Portfolio Manager is a key role at BC Housing, responsible for fostering collaborative partnerships with housing and service providers to deliver high-quality, stable, safe, and affordable housing and housing-related services. This position provides education, consultation, and support to Boards of Directors and Executive staff of Non-Profit Societies and Cooperatives, assessing financial risk and coordinating the delivery of contracted services for various housing-related programs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline, with extensive experience in senior and advanced-level positions relating to non-profit society management or social service delivery. They will possess considerable knowledge and understanding of government social and regulatory programs, social issues facing tenant populations, and non-profit society governance, operation, budgeting, maintenance, administration, procurement, contracting, and staffing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with housing and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Provide education, consultation, and support to Boards of Directors and Executive staff of Non-Profit Societies and Cooperatives.
  • Assess financial risk and coordinate the delivery of contracted services for various housing-related programs.
  • Supervise a Financial Review & Budget Assistant and provide organizational development and general management expertise to Boards and Executives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Societies, interacting with the Society Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, and Chief Financial Officers and accounting staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in senior and advanced-level positions relating to non-profit society management or social service delivery.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of government social and regulatory programs, social issues facing tenant populations, and non-profit society governance, operation, budgeting, maintenance, administration, procurement, contracting, and staffing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, consultative, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to strategize, plan, coordinate, integrate, and manage a portfolio of non-profit societies.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
