Job Summary

The Airline Operations Manager, Ottawa is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Porter Airlines' Ottawa hub. This individual will lead a team of airport operations professionals in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft turnarounds, passenger service experiences, and ground handling at the YOW Hub.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with station leaders to ensure consistent execution of defined safety, commercial, operational, passenger service, and employment standards.
  • Identify and eliminate barriers to reduce station-controllable delays and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce system controllable and uncontrollable delays.
  • Ensure 7-day-per-week in-station leadership coverage, with management actively engaged during peak passenger hours and irregular operations.
  • Manage local administrative support teams and coordinate with other departments to maintain optimal resource allocation and labour costs.
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, aviation, or related field).
  • 5-10 years of experience in airport operations management, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results-oriented initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff to achieve exceptional performance.
  • Able to effectively plan and manage resources, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in Google Office Suite and ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English.
  • Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work irregular hours, as required.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
