Capacity Planning Analyst, Workforce Management Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Capacity Planning Analyst, Workforce Management Expert to join our team at Sun Life Financial. As a key member of our workforce management team, you will be responsible for planning and optimizing our workforce capacity to meet the needs of our business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain capacity plans, including forecasting and analyzing data to optimize staffing levels
  • Support operations in planning vacations, training, and other events to ensure seamless business continuity
  • Develop and maintain an annual staffing budget forecast to ensure accurate resource allocation
  • Analyze and interpret data related to capacity, supply, and demand to inform business decisions
  • Collaborate with operations teams to gather information on project impacts and other factors affecting planning and work volumes
  • Calculate optimal staffing levels based on forecasts, capacity models, and business constraints
  • Measure and communicate variation from plan, including analysis of causes and impact on key performance indicators
  • Help balance staffing needs across different business units to ensure efficient resource allocation
  • Work with forecasters and schedulers to refine plans and ensure continuity of resourcing
  • Provide project teams with process recommendations, workload forecasts, and costs as required to support changes
  • Identify opportunities for process innovation and improvement in a continuous improvement environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of post-secondary education in business administration, statistics, operations research, computer science, mathematics, econometrics, or equivalent experience
  • Experience using Visual Basics to automate manual business processes
  • Experience querying data using SQL
  • Experience visualizing data with Tableau
  • Experience analyzing and data modeling business process data
  • Demonstrated experience working with data, including transformation, manipulation, forecasting, and statistical modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to turn forecast volumes into capacity models
