About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Communications and Capacity Building Specialist to join our team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As a key member of our team, you will support our partner organization, Hiwot Ethiopia, in enhancing their capacity to promote their work and raise awareness about their mission.

You will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective communication and knowledge management strategies, build strategic partnerships, and support the documentation and dissemination of best practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and make a meaningful impact in the lives of marginalized communities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team, contribute to a critical project, and gain valuable experience in international development and communications.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in communications, capacity building, and project management. You should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least four years of professional work experience. Your excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills, as well as your ability to analyze complex information and develop effective solutions, will be essential in this role.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a monthly stipend of $1,500, which includes a housing allowance of $300. This amount may vary depending on your qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a focal point for communications and capacity building with organizations that can support Hiwot Ethiopia's relief and development endeavors;
  2. Develop and implement effective communication and knowledge management strategies to enhance organizational performance and results;
  3. Build strategic partnerships with CSOs, consortia, and other stakeholders to strengthen alliances and promote collaboration;
  4. Support the documentation and dissemination of best practices, case studies, and lessons learned from Hiwot Ethiopia's programs and projects;
  5. Draft press releases, factsheets, newsletters, and other materials to inform key partners and audiences about the organization's achievements and results;
  6. Promote organizational learning, knowledge development, and sharing by generating new ideas and approaches to improve performance and results;
  7. Deliver technical and capacity development support to the organization through training, mentoring, and coaching on communication and knowledge management;
