Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and growing market share within the Alberta market. You will focus on driving demand and sales by targeting and educating end-user clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, develop, and manage all accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Work internally with stakeholders to develop account-specific plans that maximize sales, profit, merchandising, distribution, and market share.
  • Prospect for new accounts, while managing and growing a large existing book of business.
  • Develop reports for annual planning, forecasting, and budgets.
  • Manage large territory coverage through proactive sales call mapping and scheduling.
  • Utilize all available market and account-specific data to develop strong fact-based selling presentations.
  • Manage a robust territory through effective time management and strategic planning.
  • Direct qualified leads to the appropriate representatives for all offered products and services.
  • Formulate strategic action plans aimed at converting competitive users and non-users into dedicated clients of our services.
  • Actively engage in efforts to retain existing accounts.
  • Deliver comprehensive product information, encompassing features, benefits, and updates on new product lines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Mechanical aptitude and interest, with hands-on knowledge and passion for mechanical systems.
  • Previous technical selling experience, with solution selling skills.
  • A post-secondary education, preferably a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Business, or a full-time two-year professional diploma program.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to sell to plant operations personnel, engineers, and maintenance leadership.
  • Exceptional hands-on knowledge of MS Office, Social Media, and Customer Sales Reporting systems.
  • The ability to change, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced competitive environment.
  • The ability to build and foster impactful relationships with key customers.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the month within the Alberta marketplace.
  • A comfort with working from a home office.
