Job Summary

This position reports directly to the Division Manager for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Utilities. The position involves management of all aspects of NB Utility, encompassing safety compliance, people and resources, estimating, sales, project execution, profit/loss outcomes, project budget, schedule, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate utility projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
  • Maintain business relations with key accounts and encourage the development of new business opportunities.
  • Oversee and/or prepare project estimates, final bids, and proposal submissions.
  • Oversee and/or prepare project schedules and monitor progress.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Implement health, safety, and environment policies and programs.
  • Implement quality control programs.
  • Represent the company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Direct the purchase of supplies and materials.
  • Oversee department financial performance, including accounts receivable, work in progress, and budget.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.

Education Requirements
  • Licensed Tradesperson or Technical diploma or Engineering Degree
  • Between 5 and 10 years of electrical or utility experience
  • Proven skills in construction scheduling, planning, and execution

  • Budget and financial understanding
  • Commitment to traveling throughout the province on a regular basis
