Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and organizational skills. As a Programs Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for clients coming into the Centre, providing first-level support and assistance with program applications and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct need assessments and screen program applications to ensure eligibility and suitability.
  • Assist clients in exploring and accessing ECE programs and services, providing general information and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with program areas to provide direct support and assistance, as required.
  • Contribute to administrative and finance functions in the region, utilizing knowledge of financial systems and accounting practices.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Social Sciences or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience in a customer service or administrative environment, with a strong focus on communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use various administrative and financial systems, including the GNWT Financial Administration Manual (FAM) and the System for Accountability and Management (SAM).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows-based programs, word processing, spreadsheets, and communications software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
What We Offer

The Government of Northwest Territories offers a competitive salary range of $38.05 per hour to $45.44 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $12,839. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we encourage applications from qualified candidates who share our values.
