Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled People Scheduling Clerk to join their North Shore staffing team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform staff scheduling and timekeeping duties for designated units and programs, including preparing, adjusting, and posting staff rotations from the master rotation.
  • Review the master rotation and flow sheets, and allocate and call in relief nursing and non-nursing staff using an electronic system to fill vacancies, gaps, staff shortages, leaves of absence, and sick leaves in accordance with applicable collective agreement.
  • Ensure that staff with relevant skills are scheduled and/or available.
  • Receive and process vacation and other staff requests, and respond to written and verbal enquiries from staff and managers regarding vacation accumulations and related requests.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 plus four (4) years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with others effectively and collaboratively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment.
