**Job Title:** Care Worker for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
The Developmental Disabilities Association is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Worker to join our team. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live independently and reach their full potential.
**About the Role:
- Work Term: Permanent position with regular hours (15 hours per week)
- Work Language: English required
- Hours: 15 hours per week
This position requires a strong understanding of individualized support planning and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other service providers. You will be responsible for developing and implementing care plans, providing direct support to clients, and participating in ongoing assessments and evaluations.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each client
- Direct Support: Provide hands-on support to clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other service providers to ensure seamless coordination of care
- Assessment and Evaluation: Participate in ongoing assessments and evaluations to ensure clients receive the most effective and efficient support possible
**Requirements:
- Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, special education)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably in a residential setting
- Certifications/Courses: Developmental Services Worker (DSW) training, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certification
