About the Role

This position plays a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children at our organization. As a Family and Youth Development Professional, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients.


Job Description
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth in children.
  • Activity Leadership: Plan and lead activities that foster creativity, such as storytelling, arts, music, and physical activity.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain a safe and healthy environment that prioritizes the well-being of children.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and community service providers.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possession of an Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certificate, as well as an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Work Experience: Previous experience working with children with special needs, including those with intellectual disabilities.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
Benefits and Working Conditions
  • Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Working Hours: 4-37.5 hours per week, permanent position.
  • Language of Work: English.
  • Benefits: As per collective agreement.
