Senior Export Compliance Specialist

Siems Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Export Compliance Specialist to join our team in Canada.
Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced professional to support the business units and Global Export Controls team in implementing and monitoring the company's export compliance program. The successful candidate will document, help execute, and monitor all aspects of export classes of goods and technologies.
About the RoleThis 13-month contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of Siemens Energy. As a Senior Export Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on export control regulations and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain comprehensive internal export controls processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support business units in reviewing shipments, classifying hardware, and determining licensing requirements
- Review technology transfers and ensure compliance with export regulations
- Perform classification of technologies and assign licenses in IT systems
- Assist in preparing export permits submissions and support quarterly export audits and reporting
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, law, or business, or a college diploma in legal technique
- Experience in high-tech corporate environments and excellent command of English and French (oral and written)
- Highly proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft suite
- Eligibility to be nominated as a Designated Official under the Controlled Goods Program
- Knowledge of Canadian Export Controls, Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Siemens Energy offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
