About the Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Part-Time Youth Support Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing an inclusive environment of support for children with diverse needs.



About the Job


This part-time position involves working closely with children aged 5-12 who require additional support. Your primary responsibilities will include providing individualized support, building a sense of community, and contributing to the development of care plans. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all children have equal opportunities to participate fully in our programs.



Requirements



  • You must be at least 19 years old and possess experience working with children who have diverse needs.
  • You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • You will need to provide Enhanced Vulnerable Sector Screening (EVSS) clearance and CPR/AED training prior to commencement.
  • A diploma or degree in a related field would be considered an asset.


The Details


This is a permanent part-time position, working approximately 27.5 hours per week. The rate of pay is $21.00 per hour. You will be required to work Monday through Friday, with shifts from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. If selected, you will report to the Team Leader and will be expected to meet deadlines.
