Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Engineering and Maintenance to collaborate with our corporate engineering team, ensuring the effective and safe operation of our facilities. This role will involve overseeing site-level engineering initiatives, managing maintenance strategies, and working closely with senior leadership on capital investment planning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and a results-oriented mindset in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Oversight:
- Design and implement preventive maintenance strategies to uphold safety standards, ensure product integrity, reduce downtime, and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Establish maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance asset performance and comply with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize operational disruptions.
- Monitor equipment functionality, troubleshoot issues, and apply corrective measures as necessary.
- Manage spare parts inventory effectively to ensure operational continuity.
- Lead change management initiatives for new assets, ensuring effective planning and execution.
Capital Planning:
- Develop a strategic capital investment roadmap to support the site's long-term growth.
- Assess capital expenditure requests, perform cost-benefit analyses, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and procurement teams to secure resources and manage vendor relationships.
Leadership and Development:
- Guide and mentor the maintenance and reliability teams.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Conduct performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Identify training opportunities to enhance team skills and competencies.
- Encourage collaboration among maintenance teams across sites to share best practices and optimize performance.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities adhere to relevant regulations and company policies.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting facility operations and equipment safety.
- Work with compliance teams to address any regulatory issues.
Asset Management:
- Implement asset management strategies to extend the lifecycle of equipment.
- Conduct regular evaluations of asset performance to inform maintenance and replacement strategies.
- Develop long-term asset replacement plans and budget forecasts.
Data Analysis:
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators related to maintenance and operations.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement, developing action plans accordingly.
- Prepare reports for senior management on performance metrics and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing maintenance programs and engineering projects.
- Strong project management skills, including planning and budgeting.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards in maintenance and engineering.
- Experience in regulated industries is advantageous.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles.
