Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and proactive Lead Manager of Engineering and Maintenance to collaborate closely with the corporate engineering division to guarantee the secure and effective functioning of our facilities. This role will be pivotal in identifying and prioritizing engineering initiatives at the site level, managing maintenance strategies, and working alongside senior leadership in capital investment planning tailored to site needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and a results-driven mindset in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Oversight:

Formulate and execute preventive maintenance strategies to uphold a safe workplace, ensure product excellence, reduce downtime, and maximize equipment efficiency. Create maintenance timelines, protocols, and procedures to enhance asset performance and adhere to regulatory standards. Collaborate with production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize operational interruptions. Assess equipment performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective measures as necessary. Supervise and refine the spare parts inventory, ensuring cost-effectiveness and continuity of operations. Direct site-level change management for new assets and infrastructure, ensuring thorough planning, successful execution, and alignment with startup objectives.

Strategic Capital Planning:

Develop and sustain a comprehensive capital investment strategy to support the site's long-term viability and growth. Review capital expenditure requests, perform cost-benefit assessments, and provide recommendations to senior management. Partner with corporate engineering, finance, and procurement teams to secure resources, acquire equipment, and manage vendor relationships.

Leadership and Team Development:

Offer leadership, mentorship, and direction to maintenance and reliability teams. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the department. Conduct performance reviews, establish performance objectives, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members. Identify training and development needs to enhance the team's technical expertise. Encourage collaboration among site maintenance teams, sharing expertise and best practices to optimize performance across operations.

Compliance and Regulatory Management:

Ensure all maintenance and engineering functions comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting facility operations and equipment safety. Work with compliance teams to address any regulatory issues or audit findings.

Asset Management and Lifecycle Strategy:

Develop and implement asset management plans to optimize the lifecycle of equipment and infrastructure. Conduct regular evaluations of asset condition and performance to inform maintenance and replacement strategies. Create long-term asset replacement plans and budget forecasts to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Data Analysis and Performance Metrics:

Utilize analytical tools and performance metrics to track key performance indicators related to maintenance and engineering. Analyze data trends, identify improvement areas, and formulate action plans to enhance equipment reliability and productivity. Prepare regular updates and presentations for senior management to communicate performance insights and strategic recommendations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience in managing maintenance programs and executing engineering projects. Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk assessment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in maintenance and engineering. Experience in regulated industries is advantageous.

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. At least 7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles within a manufacturing or industrial context.

Additional Attributes:

Previous experience in processing plants is a plus. Must be legally authorized to work in the region. Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and commitment. Flexible with work schedules. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Safety-conscious and committed to product quality. Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
