Data Engineer I, Workforce Solutions

As a Data Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and automating the deployment of our distributed system for collecting and processing log events from multiple sources. You will also design data schema and operate internal data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems. Additionally, you will own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that engineers, analysts, and data scientists use to drive key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines to process large volumes of data.
- Develop and maintain data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems.
- Create and manage metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to support business decisions.
- Troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and other internal partners to identify opportunities/problems.
Requirements
- 1+ years of data engineering experience.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell).
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $80,700/year up to $134,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
