Join the City of Vancouver as an Engineering Assistant I

Summary
As an Engineering Assistant I, you will work with senior staff in the Traffic and Data Management branch to conduct field investigations related to traffic operations and safety, develop field reports, manage and update branch databases, prepare basic sign and traffic control plans, and respond to citizen concerns related to safety.

Key Responsibilities
* Respond to public inquiries and allocate and track citizen inquiries and requests using the City's Hansen system
* Conduct field investigations and safety studies, make observations, data entry, and basic data analysis
* Prepare citizen opinion surveys, presentations, and maintain files, supplies, and equipment
* Develop basic designs for signage and paint plans using AutoCAD under the direction of senior staff
* Liaise with staff in other departments to coordinate work with upcoming projects
* Ensure OQM documentation is correctly undertaken

Requirements
* Completion of Grade 12 including drafting courses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Some experience in general office, clerical, customer service, and/or junior drafting work
* Valid BC driver's license
