Software Development Engineer for Workforce Optimization

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Workforce Optimization team at Amazon. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, test-driven code to optimize workforce management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality code on time as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Contribute to team discussions around system component design, improvement, and integration.
  • Design and develop high-performance, test-driven code.
  • Work with and maintain a large existing code base as well as new components; maintain production code and contribute to deployment and QA processes.

About the Team

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon's global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.

AFT's Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative systems and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazon's global fulfillment network locations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
