Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indigenous Cultural Safety Practice Lead to join our team at Interior Health Authority. This is a permanent full-time position that will play a critical role in advancing our organization's commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and humility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the development and implementation of Indigenous cultural safety and humility initiatives across the organization.
  • Innovation: Design and implement innovative solutions to address gaps and issues in Indigenous health care, and develop strategic recommendations for leadership to advance key Indigenous health and cultural safety initiatives.
  • Program Planning and Interpretation of Policy: Lead and support the development of processes, procedures, and systems to support population-level assessment and evaluation of Indigenous cultural safety and humility programs and services.
  • Engagement and Liaison: Foster and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, including First Nation and Métis community health leaders and urban and away Indigenous service providers.
  • Integration: Promote integration of strategic priorities across the organization, and ensure that programs and services are aligned with the overall vision and direction of the Indigenous Partnerships Portfolio.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous studies, health administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives that advance Indigenous health and cultural safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
