Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indigenous Cultural Safety Practice Lead to join our team at Interior Health Authority. This is a permanent full-time position that will play a critical role in advancing our organization's commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and humility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility program, ensuring alignment with Interior Health's overall vision and goals.
  • Innovation: Develop and implement innovative solutions to address emerging priorities and gaps in care, working closely with Indigenous community partners and IH content experts.
  • Program Planning and Interpretation of Policy: Lead the development of processes, procedures, and systems to support population-level assessment and evaluation of programs and services that promote successful seamless integration.
  • Engagement and Liaison: Foster and maintain effective relationships with internal partners, First Nation and Métis community health leaders, and urban and away Indigenous service providers to further the achievement of Nation, Interior Health, and Ministry of Health goals.
  • Integration: Promote integration of the strategic priorities of Indigenous Partnerships by ensuring competing priorities are mediated and programs are linked and established as a strategic priority.
  • Program Specialists: Provide guidance and leadership for Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility-related initiatives within the Indigenous Partnerships portfolio and across the organization.
  • Functional Integration Resource Management: Ensure the strategic alignment and functional integration of resources that promotes quality patient-centered care and seamless delivery of service between IH portfolios and Indigenous partners.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous studies, health administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing innovative solutions to address emerging priorities and gaps in care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
