Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Consultant to join our team at Ellement Consulting Group in Vancouver. As a key member of our Benefits Consulting Practice, you will be responsible for delivering effective benefits consulting projects and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior practitioners to address client needs, providing guidance on benefit design, valuation processes, and compliance challenges.
  • Oversee client projects, ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes align with client expectations.
  • Travel as necessary to meet with clients and foster strong professional relationships.
Technical and Analytical Duties:
  • Complete complex technical analyses, calculations, and governance exercises pertinent to client needs.
  • Serve as a signing actuary on various valuations and other required disclosures.
  • Peer review technical analyses and calculations to ensure accuracy and client-readiness.
Development and Innovation:
  • Support the development of internal tools and models to enhance client delivery effectiveness.
  • Monitor market changes to assess impacts on clients and adapt strategies accordingly.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Mentor and help develop team members within the benefits team, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
  • Deliver appropriate training and feedback to junior team members, supporting their professional growth.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Fully qualified actuary, possessing FCIA and FSA designations.
  • At least 6-8 years of benefits consulting experience, with hands-on roles at both analyst and consultant levels.
  • Strong experience working with large benefit programs, either single-employer or multi-employer in nature.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $175,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes ongoing education and training, a positive work environment, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
