Benefits Director

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Director to lead our Group Benefits and Third-Party Administration (TPA) team, driving strategic growth and excellence in employee benefits operations.
About the RoleThe Benefits Director will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless delivery of goals and projects aligned with organizational objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Mentorship
Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Conduct regular performance reviews, maintain proper staffing levels, and provide ongoing feedback and support.
Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment across the organization and client base. Develop and implement strategies to maximize productivity and drive business results.
Client ManagementManage and oversee select clients in designing and managing their health and benefits programs. Provide expert advice on benefit plan analysis, design, cost savings, and funding strategies.
Training and DevelopmentDevelop and deliver training programs tailored to the needs of participants, focusing on interactive sessions using web-based, classroom, and visual aids.
Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Design and implement new processes, create documentation, and facilitate training for teams.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 7 years' related progressive industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of the financial services sector and insurance industry
- Deep understanding of Employee Benefits legislation and regulations in Canada, with a general understanding of the US benefits environment
- Bachelor's Degree and LLQP/Life Licensed designation
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years' people leader experience
