Job Summary

CNIB Deafblind Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to fill the role of Deafblind Community Services Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of specialized support and emergency services to individuals who are Deafblind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate services to support clients and the intervenor team
  • Supervise and coach staff in Deafblind Community Services
  • Participate in special projects involving the Deafblind Community and Deafblindness
  • Participate in the hiring and training of intervenors
  • Support education and training to clients, staff, and the community
  • Assist with gathering statistical data for government funding
  • Provide case management and manage resources for client situations
  • Facilitate access to funding and technology for individuals who are Deafblind
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technology, and practices related to the Deafblind Community and intervenor services

Requirements

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of manners and settings
  • Self-directed, organized, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage staff in remote and multiple locations
  • Demonstrated individual-centered approach and commitment
  • Understanding of the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Working confidentially in a technology-intensive operating environment
  • Diploma or degree in the human services field or related work experience in the field of Deafblindness
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team

Work Environment

Service will be provided in DBCS offices, individual homes, and/or the community. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight is required.
