Job Description

Job Title: Deafblind Community Services Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deafblind Community Services Manager to join our team at CNIB Deafblind Community Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing specialized support and emergency services to individuals who are Deafblind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of professionals in providing specialized support and emergency services to individuals who are Deafblind.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize the independence and engagement of individuals who are Deafblind.
  • Supervise and coach staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve client service outcomes and program goals.
  • Make decisions about client assessments, program planning, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of manners and settings.
  • Self-directed, organized, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage staff in remote and multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated individual-centered approach and commitment.
  • Understanding of the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Working confidentially in a technology-intensive operating environment.
  • A diploma or degree in the human services field or related work experience in the field of Deafblindness.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team.

Work Environment: The successful candidate will be required to work in DBCS offices, individual homes, and/or the community. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight is required.
