Leadership Opportunity for Deafblind Community Services Manager

CNIB Deafblind Community Services is committed to empowering individuals who are Deafblind to live independently and engage fully with their communities. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Manager to join our team and lead our efforts in providing specialized support and emergency services.
About the Role
As a Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating services, supervising staff, and coaching intervenors to ensure the highest level of quality and care for our clients. You will work closely with regional teams to identify improvements to assessment protocols and standards of practice, and promote awareness and understanding of Deafblindness-related concerns through consultation, public education, and in-service training.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote the use of established business rules, service standards, and practices, ensuring policies and procedures are followed in a timely manner.
• Perform administrative duties, including documentation of service hours, report writing, and other tasks as required.
• Participate in special projects involving the Deafblind community and Deafblindness in general.
• Participate in the hiring of intervenors and train new staff in accordance with sector standards, current policy, and practice.
• Support education and training for clients, staff, and the community.
• Assist with gathering statistical data for government funding.
• Provide case management as required, manage resource allocation for client situations identified as urgent, and make referrals to internal and external community partners.
• Facilitate access to funding, technology, and other resources for individuals who are Deafblind.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, technology, and practices related to the Deafblind community and intervenor services.
• Support clients and lead staff to ensure client needs are met.
• Schedule intervenor services.
Requirements
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in various settings.
• Ability or willingness to learn alternative methods of communication, such as sign language (visual and tactile), two-hand manual, finger spelling, and plain language.
• Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage staff in remote and multiple locations.
• Demonstrated individual-centered approach and commitment to delivering high-quality services.
• Understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement principles and working confidentially in a technology-intensive environment.
• A diploma or degree in a human services field or related work experience in the field of Deafblindness.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team.
