Job Title: Deafblind Community Services Manager

At CNIB Deafblind Community Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Deafblind Community Services Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who are Deafblind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate services to support clients and the intervenor team.
  • Supervise and coach staff in Deafblind Community Services.
  • Participate in special projects involving the Deafblind Community and Deafblindness.
  • Participate in the hiring of intervenors and train new staff.
  • Support education and training to clients, staff, and the community.
  • Assist with gathering of statistical data for government funding.
  • Provide case management as required.
  • Facilitate the process of accessing funding and technology for individuals who are Deafblind.
  • Take initiative to keep abreast of latest trends, technology, and practices related to the Deafblind Community and intervenor services.

Requirements:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of manners and settings.
  • Self-directed, organized, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage staff in remote and multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated individual-centered approach and commitment.
  • Understanding of the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Working confidentially in a technology-intensive operating environment.
  • A diploma or degree in the human services field or related work experience in the field of Deafblindness.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team.

Work Environment:

  • Service will be provided in DBCS offices, individual homes, and/or the community.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Willingness to travel overnight.
