At Native Counselling Services of Alberta, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Indigenous peer support program worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment that promotes equal employment opportunities for all job applicants, including those self-identifying as Indigenous individuals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, offering mentorship and coaching opportunities, developing relationships with indigenous communities and organizations, and facilitating access to Elders who can provide guidance and support.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about supporting Indigenous communities and promoting inclusivity. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and community partners.

A minimum of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, is offered for this full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people
  • Offer mentorship and coaching opportunities for Indigenous workers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can provide guidance and support

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
