About the Position:
We are seeking an Indigenous Cultural Care Specialist to join our team at the Glenrose Social Work, Spiritual Care, and Indigenous Health Department.
Company Overview:
The Glenrose supports Indigenous patients and families from across Alberta, including remote and northern communities, who require specialized tertiary care.
Job Description:
This casual position provides direct care to Indigenous patients and families, collaborates with care teams, and supports projects and committee-based work. The successful candidate will create and sustain community relationships, initiate and lead cultural teaching and learning opportunities, and work closely with the Indigenous Health Coordinator on-site.
About You:
- You have knowledge and respect for the diversity of Indigenous identities, experiences, and communities.
- You possess knowledge of Indigenous cultures, practices, histories, worldviews, ethics, and values.
- You are able to support the use of Indigenous protocol, medicines, and health practices.
- You have critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- You can collaborate and communicate effectively.
Requirements:
- A degree in healthcare or social sciences is considered an asset.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
What We Offer:
- An estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
