About the Role:
  • This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care during the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative periods. You will work collaboratively with the perioperative team, including registered nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons, to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • You will be responsible for performing scrub duties, admitting patients to the operating room, and circulating duties, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Your expertise in perioperative care will enable you to identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Your strong communication skills will facilitate effective collaboration with colleagues, physicians, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all necessary information is shared in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:
  • You must hold a diploma or degree in Practical Nursing from a recognized institution, as well as current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a perioperative setting is preferred, although new graduates may also apply. You should possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification and be familiar with standard operating procedures and protocols in the operating room environment.
