Job Description

The Resident/Client Care Coordinator plays a critical role in providing clinical supervision, guidance, and support to nursing and nursing support staff. This position is responsible for coordinating clinical team members within assigned units and ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize activities related to residents/clients and ensure individual care plans are developed and implemented to meet ongoing needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising nursing and nursing support staff, observing work, correcting where necessary, assigning and adjusting work assignments, and scheduling staff.

The successful candidate will be able to monitor the quality of care and safety of residents/clients, taking corrective action as appropriate. They will also promote interprofessional collaboration and team building, supporting staff to plan and carry out resident/client/family education regarding chronic illness, palliative care, etc.

A key aspect of this role is identifying learning requirements of staff and contributing to the development of learning objectives. The successful candidate will also participate in change management, quality improvement, and risk management activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Three years of recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical area, including one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certification applicable to the designated clinical area
