Fraser Health Authority is committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients. As a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) recovery room nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery or other medical procedures.

Overview

The Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) is a state-of-the-art facility located in New Westminster, B.C. Our hospital is conveniently situated adjacent to the Sapperton SkyTrain station, making it easily accessible by public transit. The RCH Redevelopment Project aims to increase the hospital's capacity, beds, and services.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $41.42 - $59.52 per hour. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, which includes employer-paid benefits, generous vacation time, benefit portability, immediate pension enrollment, maternity top-up, and a TransLink pass subsidy, among others.

Responsibilities
  • Assess post-anesthetic patients by collecting and evaluating information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
  • Makes a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determines whether improvement or resolution can be achieved through appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Plans, performs, evaluates, and documents nursing interventions and care.
  • Provides nursing care to address critical care needs of patients according to physicians' and anaesthetists' orders, and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • One year's recent relevant clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area.
