Job Description

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatment programs to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement rehabilitation programs with clients as directed by Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and/or Speech and Language Pathologists.
  • Promote maximum independence of clients in the home, community, and at work to support re-integration into the community.
  • Implement exercise programs or group exercise classes as directed.
  • Implement behavioral interventions with clients as directed.
  • Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living as directed.
  • Facilitate and implement social re-integration as directed.
  • Facilitate and implement educational and vocational re-integration as directed.
  • Facilitate and implement cognitive therapy programs as directed.
  • Promote and implement leisure activities as directed.
  • Attend case conferences and team meetings as required.
  • Drive clients as directed (with valid insurance coverage).
  • Understand and implement infection prevention practices.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discuss same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant College Program.
  • Will also consider a university degree in kinesiology and/or the possession of a RRP or CCRC designation.
  • Enjoy dealing with people and working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to be self-directed and take direction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.
  • Commitment to continual learning.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • OTA/PTA training an asset.
