Rehabilitation Support Specialist

Job Description
Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatment programs to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement rehabilitation programs with clients as directed by Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and/or Speech and Language Pathologists.
- Promote maximum independence of clients in the home, community, and at work to support re-integration into the community.
- Implement exercise programs or group exercise classes as directed.
- Implement behavioral interventions with clients as directed.
- Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living as directed.
- Facilitate and implement social re-integration as directed.
- Facilitate and implement educational and vocational re-integration as directed.
- Facilitate and implement cognitive therapy programs as directed.
- Promote and implement leisure activities as directed.
- Attend case conferences and team meetings as required.
- Drive clients as directed (with valid insurance coverage).
- Understand and implement infection prevention practices.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
- Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discuss same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant College Program.
- Will also consider a university degree in kinesiology and/or the possession of a RRP or CCRC designation.
- Enjoy dealing with people and working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
- Ability to be self-directed and take direction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.
- Commitment to continual learning.
- Valid driver's license.
- OTA/PTA training an asset.
