Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the healthcare team at Hamilton Health Sciences, responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in specialized rehabilitation settings. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care to patients in specialized rehabilitation settings, including acute care, sub-acute care, and outpatient services.
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and evaluate patient progress in collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and other life-supporting equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans that address respiratory needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
