Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialized care to critically ill patients in various units, including ICU, CCU, and Emergency. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our patients' respiratory needs and collaborating with physicians and RNs to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to adult patients in critical care settings, including ICU, CCU, and Emergency
  • Collaborate with physicians and RNs to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices
  • Conduct ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, and airway management
  • Perform adult oral endotracheal intubation, arterial blood gas sampling, and tracheostomy management
  • Participate in Code Blue team and RACE team activations
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
  • Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in adult critical care settings
  • Recent RACE experience preferred
  • Recent hyperbaric experience and/or training preferred
