Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the rehabilitation team at Hamilton Health Sciences, providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in our specialized rehabilitation programs. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' respiratory needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' respiratory status and develop care plans to meet their needs
  • Provide respiratory therapy interventions, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct patient education and counseling on respiratory health and disease management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
  • Current Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
