Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our interdisciplinary care team. As an LPN, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, care plan, implement, evaluate, and document client care, providing support to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with clients and families experiencing health challenges related to chronic disease, mental health, and substance use.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional care team, including Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses, to care for clients with unpredictable outcomes or complex care needs.
  • Maintain and advance clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM for LPNs.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BCCNM.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles of mental health treatment within a client and family model of care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict situations, manage aggressive behaviour, and use violence prevention and behavioural management techniques.
  • General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
