About the Role

As a Student Success Coordinator at Eastern College, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to students throughout their academic journey. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about education and is looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and conduct New Student Orientations, ensuring that all students have a clear understanding of the college's programs and services.
  • Meet with students one month into their program to review their progress, provide guidance, and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
  • Demonstrate empathy and excellent communication skills when interacting with students who are upset or experiencing difficulties, providing guidance and referrals as necessary.
  • IDentify students who are at risk or in crisis and connect them with relevant resources and supports.
  • Implement a student engagement process that includes regular meetings, phone calls, surveys, and electronic communications to promote student success.
  • Manage the student exit survey process, analyzing results to inform recommendations for improvement.
  • Create personalized Student Success Plans (SSPs) to help students achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure that student SSPs and accommodations are implemented effectively.
  • Provide guidance on personal issues and connect students with local counseling resources or the student assistance provider as needed.
  • Serve as a backup instructor for the Student Success Strategies course.
  • Manage the Peer Assisted Learning program and assist with the Student Ambassador Program.
  • Communicate concerns about student progress to instructors and administration, working collaboratively to develop strategies for improvement.
  • Approve grades weekly in the College Administration System (XCAS).
  • Assume the role of Acting Campus Director when the Campus Director is absent.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in business or technology.
  • At least 3 years of management, operational, and/or administrative experience.
  • CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience working with students who require accommodations is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
  • An understanding of the Private Career College industry is preferred.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
