Group Benefits Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Benefits Consultant to join our team in our Montreal office.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have experience in consulting or group benefits insurance and a strong analytical and mathematical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Benefit Consultants with all client management requirements, with a focus on retention of the assigned book of business and support with business development activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform financial analysis of insurance data and cost modeling;
- Prepare financial analysis reports and presentations communicating key results to clients;
- Maintain strong relationships and participate in negotiations with insurers and partners;
- Respond to inquiries from clients and insurers;
- Participate in calls and presentations with clients, as appropriate;
- Help in developing strategic recommendations for clients and participate in the development of new business;
- Take the initiative in the development of internal processes and tools;
- Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables;
- Assist in keeping the internal database and tracker up-to-date;
- Participate in the review and validation of the work done by colleagues and other team members;
- Play a proactive role in establishing and maintaining best practices;
- Maintain and develop internal technical knowledge;
- Participate in the training of new colleagues and junior team members;
- Develop and promote our company as a key player in the market with excellent knowledge of the industry;
- Perform any other related task or special project.
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field;
- 1+ years of experience in consulting or group benefits insurance;
- Achievement of ASA / ACIA designation of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) / Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), an asset;
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills;
- Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English;
- Attention to detail and quality;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel (including VBA);
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.
