We are seeking a skilled Construction Codes Policy Specialist to join our team at the National Research Council Canada (NRC).

About the Job

The successful candidate will work in the directorate for Codes Canada, supporting Canada's Construction Code Development system. This involves managing relationships with federal departments, provincial and territorial governments, industry, standards, and other organizations within the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting senior-level interdepartmental and/or intergovernmental committees, working groups, and forums to build relationships and promote collaboration across government departments and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing and presenting strategic and regulatory policy options on topics related to building design, construction, and operation.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with industry organizations and contributing to multi-jurisdictional, multi-stakeholder, and multidisciplinary initiatives in support of the development of guidelines and codes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, political science, or building science; candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Significant experience managing complex policy files involving technical subject areas.
  • Ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate technically complex materials.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $80,523 to $133,853 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
