Transforming the Future of Construction

PCL Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Centre Block Rehabilitation project, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
  • Collaborate with the project team to create construction site logistics models.
  • Coordinate trade partner model updates and report to the project management team.
  • Assist with model updates and support the project team in creating and processing RFIs.
  • Promote the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
  • Share new technologies with project teams and drive adoption of PCL technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline.
  • Co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Drafting and modeling experience is essential.
  • Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications is an asset.
  • Working knowledge and training in 3D modeling software and VDC software is an asset.
  • Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret markups to construction drawings.
  • Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and understand trade partner deliverables and scope.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
