Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Building Code Specialist to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our Building Specialty Services group, you will play a critical role in delivering expertise that empowers designers to create high-performing buildings without compromising budget or function.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior code consultant to work on various projects, from new building designs to existing building renovations and expansions. You will be responsible for reviewing work prepared by others, providing technical mentorship to junior team members, and preparing code reports and other technical communications.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply building and fire codes to new and existing building designs
  • Review work prepared by others and provide technical guidance
  • Prepare code reports and technical communications
  • Support clients by advising on code applications and standards
  • Cordinate project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify new clients and opportunities to expand code consulting services
  • Manage projects and serve as primary client contact

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong understanding of building and fire codes, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is also required.
