Job Summary

As a Business Development Manager at GROWMARK, Inc., you will provide leadership and support to assigned member cooperatives in implementing Energy Division and Member Resources initiatives, business development, strategies, board & manager development, and FS member services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with member management and boards to develop short and long-range business and marketing plans that result in increased profitable sales with specific emphasis on energy products.
  • Assist with GROWMARK System supported General Manager and board functions such as FS Membership Agreement, UMA, policies, development, succession, and other areas as needed.
  • Coordinate Canadian supply and logistics, including pricing, ordering, and distribution.
  • Implement GROWMARK supported technology and coordinate internal resources to focus on best practices for members.
  • Act as liaison between member and GROWMARK, collaborating with GROWMARK Divisions to provide System supported services for member cooperatives.
  • Coordinate and conduct Ontario Region meetings, including General Manager, Energy, Human Resources, Controller, Finance, Safety, Operations, Grain, Director related, and other meetings as needed.
  • Support Agronomy related meetings as coordinated by Agronomy staff.
  • Develop human resource plans that result in effective succession planning, recruiting, and developing professional employees.
  • Research and analyze major competitors and marketplace opportunities in coordination with other Ontario Team members.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Ontario related agricultural and cooperative organizations.
  • Coordinate comparative analysis and financial analysis of and for members.
  • Attend member annual meetings and board meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Normally requires a degree in finance, marketing, or other business-related discipline and at least 6 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
  • Prefer GROWMARK System marketing and/or management experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training.
