We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Protective Services Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Adult Protective Services clients to enhance their ability to live successfully and independently in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support, mentoring, and coaching to Adult Protective Services clients to enhance their skills and abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized life skills coaching plans to help clients achieve their goals.
- Act as a bridge between clients and community resources, including developmental disabilities services providers.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to negotiate the acquisition of needed services and ensure a community approach to assisting Adult Protective Services clients.
- Collaborate with other collaterals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting Adult Protective Services clients.
- Developmental Services Worker Diploma or related degree/diploma preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years working with clients with developmental disabilities.
- Solid knowledge of developmentally disabled adults and their associated support community.
- Solid knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards governing adult protective services.
- Excellent crisis intervention skills.
- Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance.
