About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Protective Services Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Adult Protective Services clients to enhance their ability to live successfully and independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support, mentoring, and coaching to Adult Protective Services clients to enhance their life skills and independence.
  • Develop and implement individualized life skills coaching plans to address clients' needs and goals.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and community resources, including developmental disabilities services providers.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to negotiate the acquisition of needed services and ensure a community approach to assisting Adult Protective Services clients.
  • Follow prescribed individual or group activities and ensure the safety and well-being of clients in care.
  • Complete required administrative and recording requirements within required timeframes.
Requirements
  • Developmental Services Worker Diploma or related degree/diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with clients with developmental disabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of developmentally disabled adults and their associated support community.
  • Solid knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards governing adult protective services.
  • Excellent crisis intervention skills.
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance.
