About the Opportunity
We are seeking a clinical resident to participate as a learner member of the clinical health team providing orthotic care to both inpatients and outpatients. The resident will work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team and others to assist the patient in achieving their orthotic goals.
The clinical resident will report to the Manager of Assistive Technology and work under the direction of a Certified Clinician. The resident will participate in the evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, implementation, and maintenance of orthoses to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
Requirements
- Two year diploma from an Orthotics Prosthetics Canada approved Prosthetic/Orthotic Clinical Program
- Registration with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada for residency as appropriate
- Experience working with patients with physical/cognitive impairments
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have organizational skills to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads with support
- High level of manual dexterity, strong problem solving abilities, computer skills
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and understanding of infection control procedures
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Compensation and Incentives
The successful candidate may be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract. The hourly rate for this position is $30.08 - $32.09.
