Nova Scotia Health Authority, the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, seeks a skilled Orthotic Technician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre - QEII.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise towards evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, and maintenance of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.

About the Opportunity

This is a Permanent, Full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The Registered Orthotic Technician will work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team to provide optimal care and assist the patient in achieving their orthotic goals.

  • Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
  • Minimum of two years' experience (Technical Internship is considered experience)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, high level of manual dexterity, strong problem-solving abilities, computer skills
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and understanding of infection control procedures

The salary for this role is $29.81 - $36.54 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Benefits and Incentives

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
