The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $30.08 - $32.09 per hour, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an Orthotic Clinician Graduate to join our team at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre - QEII. This is a long-assignment, full-time position that requires 75 hours of work bi-weekly for approximately 24 months.
Job Description
As an Orthotic Clinician Graduate, you will participate as a learner member of the clinical health team providing orthotic care to inpatients and outpatients. You will work collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to support the evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, implementation, and maintenance of orthoses to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A two-year diploma from an Orthotics Prosthetics Canada-approved program or equivalent practical experience.
- Registration with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada as a resident.
- Experience working with patients with physical/cognitive impairments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational abilities to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads with support.
- High level of manual dexterity, strong problem-solving abilities, and computer skills.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures.
- Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
