Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

The Data Lineage Analyst will be responsible for documenting the entire data lineage lifecycle, from the original source of the data to its point of consumption in a report. This includes any associated data transformations and maintaining relationships with various business and IT stakeholders to understand and communicate details of data lineage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document the lineage of data from originating sources to point of consumption in reports.
  • Collaborate with Data Management Offices, Data Custodians, and Data Stewards to understand data lineage reporting standards and best practices.
  • Leverage data lineage artifacts captured by other Data Management Offices and share artifacts captured by Risk Data Management Office to avoid duplication of effort.
  • Identify and communicate options to optimize the process of data lineage capture and documentation.
  • Develop knowledge and become a valuable team resource, supporting the development of data lineage in general.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data management, data lineage capture, data analysis, or related data programs.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in finance, data analysis, or related programs.
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Datameer, SQL.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and compliance.
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra.
  • Experience handling and deriving information from large data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technology staff at different levels of seniority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate or post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy or process/productivity improvements.
  • Lean or process improvement designations.
